We are pleased to announce the production of a limited run, fine-scale RTR, injection-moulded 0 gauge model of the private owner Iron Mink van in Blue Circle and Ferrocrete liveries in 7mm scale (1:43.5, for 32mm standard gauge). The models are in production with expected delivery in Spring 2020.
The vans were built to a GWR design for the Associated Portland Cement Manufacturers (APCM). They operated from several cement works, including APCM’s large factory at Harbury in Warwickshire and were in service from the 1930s to the 1950s.
The model features a plastic injection-moulded body and chassis, metal-tyred wheels on pin-point axles fitted in compensated axle-boxes, sprung buffers and hook draw-gear with three-link couplings. Two liveries are available: FERROCRETE and BLUE CIRCLE.
The retail price per wagon will be £47.50 including UK VAT, plus postage at £4 per order.
The models will only be available direct from Minerva Models via mail and telephone order, the Minerva website and from the Minerva Models’ stand at selected model railway shows.
Re: Cement Vans.
Could I please place order for one of each livery (Ferrocrete & Blue Circle)?
When will you require payment, which I can do by Bank transfer (or cash – if Chris K is able to deliver as on a previous purchase!)
I’m genuinely looking forward to these, having spent many hours building too many of Adrian Swain’s cement van kits for customers over the past eons. But I never made one for myself!
As a suggestion for further models (using the Mink as a basis), some of these vans were converted into Tool Vans – according to HMRS.
I scratch built 25 Engineers Dept/Tool Vans using the ABS Mink kit, in various liveries, for a local model shop. They all went very quickly – GOG mag adverts helped!
Keep up the good work
Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year,
Rob
Th vans are expected around April 2020, so orders can be sent then. Sorry for the wait.
PS
Not long after the adverts appeared in the GOG mag., Bill Parker at WEP produced the GWR CC1 Tool Van!
Could i place an order for a pair of cement wagons and could Mr.Klein do a heavy weathering job on them! Best regards Adam Burton
